About this blog

New Year's - a time to reflect on the past year, and to look ahead at fresh starts and new challenges. So what does that mean for a twenty-something, career-gal like me living in Canada's largest city?

Normally, nothing at all. The new year comes and goes, barely noticed. But not this year.

I decided to give something new a try for 2014, by coming up with a New Year's resolution that I will have to stick to for an entire year: no new clothes.

THE RESOLUTION

I will not buy any new clothes (and by "new" I mean "brand new"), and will shop exclusively for second-hand and vintage fashions, from January 1, 2014-December 31, 2014.

THE RULES
1. No purchase of items that have never been worn or from non-second hand or vintage retailers
2.  Clothing swaps are allowed provided the item has been worn
3. Gifts don't count (what can I say...my mum knows my style!)

EXCEPTIONS
1. Lingerie and undergarments (bras, underwear, hosiery)
2. Socks
3. Items for very specific purposes (e.g. Bridesmaid stuff, costumes, etc.)
